[ And he might actually connect it to the card, because it seems like exactly the same kind of thing the were card did to him, that the nymph card is currently doing to him, just with a different trait, but uhhhh. ]
—You were interested in me?
[ Whoops, this sure is kind of an issue they share, even though it looks a little different on him. Less fluster, more blank surprise. ]
Mm-hmm. I guess you could say it was mostly... intuition. I had a feeling you were my type for a while now. Well, besides knowing I found you really attractive. [...] Although I wasn't really sure it would be the same for you... so I didn't really say anything. I didn't want to make things awkward-- because I really like you as a friend and ally too.
[ And surprised, very visibly. He is kind of just barely refraining from pointing at himself, like. 'Me? You're sure?' But it helps that the rest of what she's saying is so distracting. ]
Heh. You know — when I first got here? I wasn't sure I wanted to go there with anyone. Or at least, not with anyone on my own unit. Same kind of reasoning, really; you've gotta be able to trust each other, work together. Hell, you've gotta be able to live together, at least twice a week. Sex can... really mess that kind of thing up.
[ A beat. ]
But we also go through a lot in this place, even when they're not literally killing us. It's stressful. It's exhausting. A little bit of messing around, well—
[ He cuts himself off, seeming to consider his words for a long moment, but then he shrugs. Offers up a crooked smile. ]
Endorphins take the edge off.
[ And as deliberately casual as his tone is, Lupine's gaze is also very intent on Rene's face. Watching for her reaction. Watching to see if she — gets what he's driving at. ]
[Even she wouldn't try to argue she has the best taste. But she definitely wouldn't change it, either.]
...yeah. It was a bit of meddling on the production's part that gave me the push it took to take that first step. But I realized that a little mess would still be worth what I got out of it in the long run.
As long as we're honest with ourselves and each other... if what we want is the same, I don't see any reason not to enjoy it. I don't think it has to be any more complicated than that.
[That crooked smile... she's weak. Winking, she nods her head.]
[She understands. Though the latter comment causes a breathless giggle to bubble up. Irony is always a bit funny that way. But the humor is equally matched by the thrum of excitement as she feels her wrists caught by the vines.]
I think we can make a few small exceptions this time-- don't you?
Small? [ The vines are starting to tug her wrists behind her, making them nicely prone at her back. ] I dunno, they'll be stronger if they're... thicker.
[ Lipquirk. ]
That was so bad, I'm sorry.
[ But he does slide in closer, the vines drawing her back sweetly but insistently to the aforementioned wall behind her~. Eyes lidding, ]

Mm. Yeah... they do.
Re: Lupine
So. A little harmless fun? No strings attached.
[ He can do that. Lower: ]
Though I guess it depends on how strictly you're defining strings.
[ Vines coming up behind her again. They left off while he was... concerned and surprised, but they're back again. Catching at her wrists, to start. ]

I'll make it up to you.
